The Sandia Mountains seem to glow brighter when the ABQ comes together. This Thanksgiving, while the smell of green chile/pine nut stuffing fills the air, thousands of our neighbors need a helping hand—and your hands could make the difference.
Albuquerque is different from most cities. In Albuquerque, we're not just neighbors—we're family. Each Victorian home in Huning Highland and adobe dwelling in Old Town tells a story. Sadly, some stories include empty plates and lonely hearts, and the holidays can intensify these feelings.
Where Can You Bless Your Community?
• Roadrunner Food Bank: They need people for turkey distribution. Forget the gym, and try a new workout, lifting frozen turkeys.
• Joy Junction: Serve meals with a side of dignity. Your smile could bring hope brighten someone's day.
• Silver Horizons: Help deliver meals to our elderly neighbors. Bonus: You may learn alot about old Albuquerque as your elderly neighbors share their stories.
• Storehouse New Mexico: Stock shelves, pack food boxes, and maybe practice a little Spanglish with fellow volunteers.
